OUR EDGE - 9Ds

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, the director and the actor in his own play”

Magda Gerber

We are the Foundation To Your Child’s Dreams

The Centennial School focuses on the individuality of each child. By abiding by the 9Ds of Holistic Development, we provide future-oriented education, whilst also encouraging creativity, responsibility and confidence in our students.

Talent Development

Helps achieve mastery in self-expression, communication, and contribution to collaborating.

We believe that each child is born talented. With the passage of time, teachers and parents together help the child to identify and believe in his/her potential that can be taken forward as a talent to live a content life.

Academic Development

Our curriculum equips each child to observe, learn, analyse and find solutions.

Our curriculum is designed in a way that equips each child to observe, learn, analyze and find solutions. The Centennial’s Academic Development plan provides students with goals and skills in the classroom that will help them achieve professional success in the future.

Right Brain Development

With playway methods, we help develop the right brain, which acts as a pertinent guiding principle that leads to holistic growth of the child.

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
~ Albert Einstein
While the left brain is more interested in outcomes or products, the right brain cares much more about the process—the journey is what matters, not the destination. For holistic growth of an individual, it is important that there is a balanced development of both the right and left brain.

Multiple Intelligence Development

We follow and develop the eight intelligences proposed by Gardner - linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, spatial, bodily-kinaesthetic, naturalist, interpersonal, and intrapersonal.

Children are gifted in every area of intelligence that should be included in the teaching, rather than just focusing on linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence, as followed in the conventional education system. The eight intelligences proposed by Gardner are linguistic, logical mathematical, musical, spatial, bodily-kinaesthetic, naturalist, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. Each of the intelligence areas manifest different ways of learning, thought process and problem-solving abilities. This is why children having different levels of intelligence need to be taught and trained in different ways to help them excel in their own uniqueness. The Centennial Schools have adopted the concept of Multiple Intelligence theory into their pedagogy, allowing educationists to expose children to multiple ways of learning through a collaborative and interactive learning culture, in which students are highly motivated and engaged.

Life Skill Development

We have structured the program in a manner that it supports the child to learn age-appropriate skills for survival in the evolving society.

UNICEF defines life skills as “psycho-social abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.” These are the skills that put knowledge into use for living meaningfully and successfully.

A broad grouping of the skill learned through curriculum are:

  • Self-Care Skills
  • Self-Management Skills
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Decision Making Skills
  • Time Management Skills
  • Money Management Skills
  • Home Management Skills

Parental Development

Our program requires equal participation of parents for child’s holistic growth and development to be a happy achiever.

Parents are the foundation stone of a child’s learning journey. Our child experts and facilitators, along with the support from parents help build further. It is imperative that both know and understand the path & goal of a child’s education and are in sync. This is the only way to ensure a child holistically grows to be a happy achiever and collaborator in life.

Value System Development

We create an ambience where values are put to practice that help child create the path and destination to achieve its true potential in life.

Children’s value systems develop through youth and influence their attitudes & actions. A personal value system is a set of principles or ideals that drive and/or guide a person’s behaviour.

It helps the child express who he/she is and what he/she stands for. Some reflections of our value systems:

  1. Determination
  2. Commitment
  3. Empathy and compassion
  4. Patriotism
  5. Team work
  6. Law abiding
  7. Environment protection
  8. Liberal thinker-tolerance

Health Development

Our infrastructure, physical environment, policies, curriculum, teaching & learning, and staff all have the potential to positively influence child health.

A healthy mind and fit body is the first step for an achiever in life. To reach their full potential, children need to be healthy & fit. Protecting and improving the health of children is of fundamental importance to our goal of providing holistic education.

Social Development

Our programme helps the child learn new words as a toddler, be able to resist peer pressure as a high school student, and successfully navigate the challenges of adulthood, without being socially awkward.

Social development can actually impact many of the other forms of development a child experiences. A child’s ability to interact in a healthy way with the people around them can impact everything from learning new words as a toddler, to being able to resist peer pressure as a high school student, to successfully navigating the challenges of adulthood.

Healthy social development can help your child:

  1. Develop language skills
  2. Build self esteem and strengthen learning skills
  3. Resolve conflicts and establish a positive attitude
